About This Flag
The flag of Tajikistan consists of three horizontal bands β red on top, a wider white band in the middle, and green on the bottom β with a golden crown topped by an arc of seven gold stars centered on the white stripe. The red represents the sun, victory, and the workers' unity, the white stands for cotton (historically the country's main export) and purity, and the green symbolizes the lush valleys and Islam.
The crown represents the Tajik people (the word 'tajik' is sometimes etymologically linked to 'crown'), and the seven stars above it represent the seven noted regions of Tajikistan and the concept of perfection in Tajik culture. The flag was adopted on November 24, 1992.
