About This Flag
The flag of Grenada features a red border with three yellow five-pointed stars at the top and three at the bottom, with the main field divided diagonally into four triangles — green at the top and bottom, yellow on the hoist and fly sides — all centered on a red disc containing a yellow five-pointed star. On the hoist-side green triangle sits a small icon of a nutmeg.
The red represents courage, vitality, and the sun, the yellow stands for wisdom and the warmth of the people, and the green symbolizes the island's lush vegetation and agriculture. The nutmeg reflects Grenada's status as one of the world's leading nutmeg producers.
Adopted on February 7, 1974, upon independence from Britain.
